Prayer: We Do Not Lose Heart

Ah, Lord God, we do not lose heart, for it is by Your mercy that we are engaged in ministry. We do not lose heart even though our physical self is wasting away, because we know that our inner nature (our spirit) is being renewed day by day. Grant us eyes to see beyond those things which are merely physical; grant us eyes to see with our spirit.

We hide ourselves beneath Your wing. We put our trust in You. Cover us, O God, with Your feathers and warm our hearts. Still us, O God, and fill us with a knowing that You are God of all tribes, all nations, all peoples. Gather others to us who long to know You, who want to minister to You, who love the name of the Lord, who choose to be Your servants, and hold fast to Your covenant of love and grace. May we who gather willingly extend Your mercy and justice as we go forth; sharing Your blessings by blessing all whom we meet. Amen (Psalm 46.10, Psalm 91.4, 1 Chronicles 21.23, Isaiah 56, 2 Corinthians 4.1,16-18)
