Prayer: Immense Broadening

O Holy God, You call us to sanctification and we wonder what it will cost -- An intense narrowing of all our interests on earth and an immense broadening of all our interests in You.

You call us into a covenant relationship with You and then gently take us by the hand and draw us to Yourself. You then ask us to reflect Your light in order to open the eyes of those who cannot see Your great love; to bring others out of darkness into Your light. May we see that our bodies are the temple of Your Holy Spirit and we are no longer our own, but we belong to You and bring You glory as we let Your light shine in and through us. May we realize the great price You paid and know our cost is nothing in comparison. May the former things pass away and may new things You have planned spring forth. Amen. (Isaiah 42.6-9, 1 Corinthians 6.19-20)
