Musing: Bountiful Blessings

I have been asked to pull together an Advent Devotional Booklet for this Advent season. Since there wasn't much time, I opted to give titles and scripture verses for possible devotions to various individuals. It has been such a blessing to see how people have responded and have written from their own life experiences. One lady who is now 83, used to watch sheep herders move through the area around her family's ranch -- and she chose to write about that and the Gentle Shepherd. Another lady who heads Habitat for Humanity chose to write about one of the families that was helped this past year and would be having their first Christmas in their new three-bedroom house. What a blessing this will be as we continue to receive people's stories...I am blessed, simply by saying, "Yes" to what seemed like an insurmountable task.

Musing: Doors to the Sea...

This is a picture at Driftwood Beach -- one-quarter of a mile from our house in Oregon. Isn't it beautiful? It is just the most fabulous place to go to in the evening and watch the sunset while hearing / watching the waves roll in. It genuinely feels like the "doors to the sea" spoken of in scripture. We are so blessed to be here. I feel very much like David when he said, "Who am I and what is my family that You have brought me this far?" Blessings and peace, "Mostly Coastal"
