Prayer: An Ear to Hear

Ah, Lord God, speak for Thy servant heareth. I realize there must be a listening ear, as well as Your still small voice. May I choose to be united to Jesus Christ so I not only hear You speak but choose to quickly obey. May I learn a devotion to hearing all the time, not just in crisis moments. I willingly give up those things which compete with Your voice and so easily drown it out. Grant, I pray, an understanding of the times in which I live. May I be wholly consecrated to You, O Lord, and humbly come before You each morning expecting to hear Your voice. Amen. (1 Samuel 3.10, Galatians 6.9, 1 Chronicles 12.32, Judith 6.19,20)
