Prayer: A Contrite & Humble in Heart

O Lord God, You are the High and Lofty One who inhabits eternity. Your name is Holy. Yet You choose to dwell with the one who is contrite and humble in heart. Every sacrifice, every fragrant offering to You is but a small thing. However, You tell us that the one who is in awe of You is a great thing, the perfect offering.

You have reconciled us to Yourself through Christ, and You have given us the ministry of reconciliation. You choose to make Your appeal through us, so others may be reconciled to You and experience Your healing love, mercy and grace. May we be worthy to be called Your ambassadors. The real healing of body, mind and spirit comes from within, from the close loving contact of Your Spirit with our spirit. It is then that the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings. Let the Spirit of the Lord rise within us. Amen.
(1 Chronicles 22.16, Isaiah 57.15, Judith 16.16, 2 Corinthians 5.18,20)
