Prayer: The Thinness of Our Lives

Ah, Lord Jesus, grant a willing heart and a focus on that which is important so we may do the duty that lies nearest. May we in the church look to Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, so we do not grow weary or become faint hearted in the work to which You call us. Send, O Lord, Your prophets, priests and poets to rescue us from the thinness of our lives and to lead us to Your green pasture and the still water which only You provide. Fill us, O Lord with Your great joy so others may see and hear and be drawn into relationship with You. Amen (Nehemiah 12.43,45; Hebrews 12.1-3)
