Prayer: With Many Words

May I be a prophet who encourages and strengthens others with Your Word

Set a plumb line in my heart and life

May I be straight with You

Before attempting to be "straight" with others

Only You give victory, O Lord

Prayer: You Know Your Servant

O Lord, You know Your servant

Who am I and what is my family that You have brought me thus far?

Strengthen me
So that I may I strengthen the souls of Your disciples
Encouraging them to continue in the faith
Especially during the many tribulations we face as we enter the Kingdom of God

Prayer: Let Justice Roll Down

I give thanks to You for Your mercy and grace

I glory in Your holy Name

I rejoice in my heart as I seek Your Presence

I sing praises to Your Name

I seek good, not evil

I hate evil and love the good

I cry out at injustice

Lord God Almighty, let Your justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream

May I speak out and encourage others to continue in Your grace and to work to establish justice in this our world today

Prayer: Where are the Prophets?

Be the Lord of Breakthroughs

There is such a din in today's world
Visually as well as audibly

Break through, O Lord, break through

You do nothing without revealing Your secrets to Your servants the prophets

Who today stands up and foretells by Your Spirit what is to happen in the world?

Where are the sheep breeders, the fishermen, the true prophets?

No more televangelists, no more Elmer Gantry's
No more glitz, no more glitter

Just One who speaks with Authority

Prayer: Times of Refreshing

Lord God, I come and sit before Your Presence so that times of refreshing might come.

May I sit and listen and soak up all that You have for me.

May I take care not to let any of Your Word fall to the ground, but speak faithfully that which You put into my mouth.

Do in my heart and life all that which You intend.

Fulfill all You have planned.
May I hold fast to love and justice and continually wait on You.

Silver and gold have I none, but what I have gleaned from Your Word may I gladly give.

Prayer: One Who Is Far Off

Lord God, I am as one who is far off.

Call me to Yourself and fill me with Your Spirit.

I have no power of my own to speak anything.

The Word that You put in my mouth I must speak.

You have led me with cords of kindness, with bands of love.

You became to me as One who eases the yoke on my jaws.

Bend low, O God, and feed me.

I trust that all Your promises are for me.

Fill me, O God, with Your Spirit.

Prayer: Walking the King's Highway

Lord God, may I choose to walk the King's Highway rather than the highways of the world.

Bless me, O God, and enlarge my territory.

Let Your hand be with me and keep me from harm so that I may not cause pain.

I have found rich, good pasture here on the Oregon coast.

The land is broad and quiet and peaceful.

May I sow righteousness here and break up the fallow ground in my heart and seek Your face. Come, Lord Jesus, and reign righteousness upon me.

May I be devoted to You and to prayer.

Prayer: Aye, the Rub

Ah, this is the rub -- am I doing something in my own strength because it is something I know how to do, or am I going to the Rock to receive from Your hand what's truly needed and to give You the honor and glory?

It is so easy to assume I should employ my God-given talents rather than seeking Your face and asking for Your supply.

Forgive me, Lord. May I be about tending Your sheep with the knowledge that You are the Shepherd.

Prayer: Spirit Wind

Ah, Lord God, teach me to sow to the Spirit.

May a fresh Spirit-wind move in and through my heart and life.

Breathe on me breath of God; fill me with Your Peace.

Let me go out sowing peace, kindness, mercy and reconciliation.

May I not withhold forgiveness to those who have sown to the wind.

Prayer: Dedication

May I be willing to dedicate to You my best

I return to You, my Lord and my God

I seek You in all I do

I am now old and gray headed

May I not allow strangers to devour my strength with unnecessary things

You, O Lord, are my strength and shield and my Portion forever

Lord God, it is not a small thing that You have separated me unto Yourself

May I stand before the congregation and minister faithfully to Your people

Draw me ever nearer to You

May I accomplish the work that You have given me to do

May I be meek and lowly of heart and glorify Your Name

O Lord, I am but a sojourner here below

Lord God, teach me to follow You fully

To be filled with a Spirit that is different from the world

May I possess a penitent heart and a humility in all my ways

Ah, Lord God

You say You are my Husband

Allure me and bring me into Your wilderness and speak tenderly to me

Bring all Your promises to remembrance by Your sweet Spirit

O Lord, bring to pass in my life that which You determined long ago.

May I see Your Word come true for me.

May I take root downward and bear fruit upward.

May I shine like the brightness of the sky above and turn many to righteousness.

I fall to the earth and die to my own desires.

I choose to serve You, O Thou Great Jehovah.

May we no longer see through a glass darkly
